Fitting / Removing a manifold

Tools

13mm Socket
13mm Ring spanner
Reverse Torx socket E7

Parts

Manifold gasket
Studs x8
Washers x8
Nuts x8

To remove the manifold undo the 13mm nuts. You may find that some of the studs come and on others the nuts will only come out. Remove the manifold.

To remove the studs still left in the head, put two nuts on the stud, now tighten the first one against the second. Undo the stud using the first nut.

Depending on the type of stud being fitted you will either need to use two nuts lock nutted against each other or you will need a Reverse Torx socket. Torque to 16Nm for exhaust manifold or 19Nm for inlet manifold.

Now put you gasket on followed by the manifold. Make sure you fit the washers, then torque the nuts to 6Nm for exhaust manifold or 19Nm for inlet manifold.
