Term Definition
Tappet A cylindrical component which transmits motion from the cam to the valve, either directly or via a rocker arm. Also called a follower.
Thermostat A valve which is heat controlled, the valve controls the flow of coolant between the block and the radiator. The is keeps the engine at a optimum temperature.
Timing belt A Timing belt is a toothed belt which drives the cam shaft. Make sure this belt is change regularly as serious damage to the engine can happen if it snaps.
Timing chain The same as a Timing belt only it's a chain.
Toe-in Toe-in is where the front of the front wheels are closer together than the back of the front wheels.
Toe-out Toe-out is where the back of the front wheels are closer together than the front of front wheels.
Turbocharger A centrifugal device which is driven by the exhaust gases, to pressurizes the intake air for the engine.
