The Turbo Technics Kit (TT Kit)
You could buy the Turbo Technics kit (TT Kit) to "Bolt on"
in 1986 for £1,581, although
this involves a lot of work. The earlier xr2 needed the piston crowns
machining flat, the later xr2s (after 86) could run without this
modification, the only way to make sure if the pistons do/ do not need
machining is to have a look a them.
The kit included:
TT plenium chamber
Vac advanced unit
Fuel pump
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Copper pipe to replace your fuel return
Intercooler
The Turbo Technics Fiesta
The Turbo Technics Fiesta was launched in 1986, and uses a normal 1600
XR2 engine with a rejetted carburettor and a water cooled T25 Turbo. The
car cost £9,157 with alloy wheels and sunroof, which is £750 pounds
cheaper than a R5 Turbo or Peugeot 205GTI. The car has a 0-60 time of
7.9 sec with a top speed of 122 mph
These cars are very rare and is second hand prices are around £1500-£2000.
